Pre-Season training can start at different points depending on what age you coach. For U11's to U13's pre-season should start between February and April depending on how serious your club is and when the season starts. For U14's to U18's pre-season should start between December and February depending on how serious your club is and when the season starts. The main aspects to focus on during pre-season are listed below.
1. Skills
It is important to practice skills such as kicking and handballing during pre-season as they may have become rusty during the off-season.
2. Agility
Agility helps to change direction quickly which is very important in football. Agility is used lot's in football and can be practiced by doing drills that ivolve dodging and weaving.
3. Endurance
Endurance is the most important aspect of football. Endurance is used to keep players on the run and moving for the duration of the whole game.
4. Strength
It is important to gain strength so you can be more competitive in a game. Strength can be gained by gym work or tackling and competitive work.
